I am going to start off my blog by telling people a little about me, because if you don’t know me well, you won’t understand why I love music so much. I have a boyfriend of almost a year. When I think of any song with couples in it, I think of us. We are very serious and like many songs say things about fairy tales and it feels like I am in a fairy tale. My family has been through a lot. We’ve had multiple young deaths to deal with which gets really hard to deal with. When we went through these things, I would turn to music to comfort me. Often I was able to find a song that would relate to me and what was going on in my life. Whenever I needed pumping up for cheer or gymnastics, I would listen to music to get me going. There probably aren’t very many newer songs that I don’t know. I am constantly listening to music and I have no idea what I would do without it. I can think of a few songs that remind me of my life, but, one sticks out in my head and it is called My Town by Montgomery Gentry. When I hear this song I think of all the things I’ve done (and most of the time I laugh) and how I’ve gotten to where I am now. Most people would think that I like country music because of the song I just talked about. Well that guess would be very wrong. I am very big on Rap and Hip Hop music. Some people claim that rap isn’t really music because the rappers don’t actually sing. Well I would like for them to try and rhyme something with the word orange. Good luck to them! Raps are sometimes poetic, rhyming, or just inspirational. All types of music interest me (with the exception of screamo – it’s just not my “cup of tea”). Rap music is definitely the best music for me so I’ll be writing mostly about raps and the inspiration that they give me or others around me.
I like your topic very much! I would agree with you on rap...rappers are poets and I use rap a lot in my English literature classes. Personally Eminem is one of my favorites...very talented with rhyme and figurative language. Can't wait to see where your blog goes.
ReplyDeleteI bet you would like Atmosphere. I just recently got into them from my boyfriend.
ReplyDeleteYou sound just like me, I love music and could not live without it. I can live without tv but music is my relaxation and my escape sometimes. I enjoy rap, but right now at this time in my life I'm all about the country music, because I can relate to it the best.
ReplyDeleteI understand about how you get pumped up through listening to music I do the exact same thing. I do not listen to rap though I only listen to Country music. That's because I can relate to most country music and it always has what I am looking for.
